A girl dressed in a full-sleeved traditional white dress that reaches her ankles is riding a brown horse at full speed. Her face is completely covered with a dupatta, leaving only her eyes visible.
Her kohl-lined eyes are fierce and full of confidence, fixed on the path ahead. There is no fear in her eyes, only strength and determination.
She is none other than Siya, the Princess of Sitapur.
With every powerful step of the horse, her dress and dupatta flew freely in the wind. She sat proudly on the horse, carrying herself with the grace and confidence of a true princess.
The sight of her was enough to make anyone stop and look.
She didn't look like a princess trying to escape the palace.
She looked like a fearless warrior, riding toward her destiny, as if she had the power to conquer the whole world.
Behind Siya, a girl is riding another horse, trying hard to catch up with Siya.
“Princess, stop..” she shouted. “We’re going to be late. We have to return, otherwise everyone will find out that you are not in the Raj Mahal.”
The girl is Devika, Siya’s maid in the eyes of the world, but to Siya, she is much more than that.
She is her best friend, her closest companion, and the one person who know everything about her.
Devika is the one who takes care of almost everything of Siya.
"Siya ruk jaiye Hame dar lag rha hai. kaha ja rhe hai hum es wakt" Devika asked, struggling to catch up with Siya.
(“Siya, please stop, I’m getting scared. Where are we going at this time?” Devika asked, struggling to catch up with Siya.)
“Devika, I can’t stop. I have to reach the top of the mountain before sunrise,” Siya shouted as she continued riding without looking back.
“Siya, why are we going there so early in the morning? That area isn’t safe. Please, let’s go back to the Raj Mahal,” Devika shouted from behind, her voice filled with worry.
Siya slowed her horse a little and glanced back at Devika. Devika was now just a short distance behind her.
Siya smiled softly and continued riding at a normal pace beside her.
“Devika, aap hamari param sakhi hain aur aap jaanti hain na, hum aapse kuch nahi chhupate. Woh kya hai na ki humne ek vachan diya hai, bas wahi nibhane ja rahe hain,” Siya said gently.
(“Devika, you are my closest friend, and you know that I never hide anything from you. It’s just that… I made a promise, and I have to keep it,” Siya said gently.)
“What promise? And to whom did you make it?” Devika asked in confusion, looking at Siya.
They were riding together side by side.
“Vastav mein, ek baar humne Mahadev se vachan diya tha ki es Mahashivratri par hum pahadi ki choti par khilne wala vah vishesh pushp lekar aayenge aur use unke charanon mein arpit karenge. Aur aaj Shivratri hai na, isiliye hum wahi pushp lene ja rahe hain,” Siya replied with a soft smile.
(“Actually, I once made a promise to Mahadev that on this Mahashivratri, I would bring that special flower that blooms only at the top of the mountain and offer it to mahadev during my prayers. And today is Shivratri, so I must keep my promise,” Siya replied with a soft smile.)
Siya chuckled when she saw the shocked look on Devika’s face.
“Devika, calm down. You don’t have to worry when I’m with you,” she said dramatically.
“That’s exactly why I’m worried,” Devika replied with a playful smile. “Trouble doesn’t come looking for you. You go and find it yourself.”
Siya laughed softly.
Devika then looked at her with a knowing smile. “By the way Siya, are you going to ask Mahadev for something special in your prayers today?”
She already knew what Siya would ask for.
Suddenly, Siya’s cheeks flushed with shyness. But because of the cloth covering her face, Devika couldn’t see it. Still, she knew Siya well enough to understand that she was blushing.
“No, as usual. Nothing special,” Siya replied, pretending to be unaffected.
But deep in her heart, Siya silently prayed, "I hope Mahadev makes me meet him soon. I don’t know who he is or where he is, but I know one thing he is meant to be mine. My Rana Sa."
“Aap keval Siya ke hain, aur Siya keval aapki hai," she whispered softly to herself.
(“You are only Siya’s, and Siya is only yours,” she whispered softly to herself.)
Then they finally reached the top of the mountain.
Siya carefully plucked that special flower along with several other flowers, and then they quickly turned back toward the Raj Mahal.
They were in a hurry to reach back before everyone in the palace woke up.
Siya was riding ahead, while Devika was following closely behind her.
As Siya rode swiftly downhill, she suddenly almost collided with another rider.
At the last moment, both riders pulled hard on the reins and brought their horses to a sudden stop at time. Their horses stood barely a step apart.
The rider in front of Siya glares at her, his eyes filled with anger. She almost collides with him because of her reckless riding.
And that rider is none other than Ekansh, the King of Pratapgad.
Their deep, black eyes, endless like the ocean, met.
Neither of them blinked. Neither moved.
For a moment, time itself seemed to stop as they stared at each other. Their faces remained expressionless, yet something unspoken passed between them a strange pull neither could understand.
For a few moments, they simply lost themselves in each other’s eyes.
Ekansh was looking incredibly handsome in his fitted black kurta.
His black hair was slightly messy, falling over his forehead from the ride. His powerful gaze and cold, unreadable expression made him look even more dangerous.
Only Siya’s eyes were visible, yet they held enough power to to make him lose his senses.
Devika was simply staring at the two of them in confusion while they remained lost in each other’s eyes.
A strong gust of wind brings them back to their senses. They both blink and look around, as if realizing where they are.
Then, they dismount from their horses and stand face-to-face, glaring at each other in anger.
“How dare you come into my path?” Ekansh said in a loud, furious voice, emphasizing every word.
“Don’t you dare raise your voice at me,” Siya warned him while pressing each word, her fiery eyes fixed on him.
Then she added firmly yet in a same tone, “And you are the one who came into my path.”
Hearing this, Ekansh grew even angrier. He clenched his jaw, trying to control his anger, while Siya continued to stare at him furiously.
Ekansh took a step toward her, their eyes locked on each other. Siya stood firmly in her place, completely unaffected by him.
When he was only two steps away, she quickly pulled out her sword and held it against his neck.
Ekansh stopped, but he remained completely calm and unfazed.
She stood there, glaring at him in anger, while his calm gaze remained fixed on her.
“Don’t you dare come any closer to me, or I will take your life. Understood?” Siya warned, her voice sharp with anger and her eyes unwavering.
Suddenly, Ekansh’s expression changed. His eyes filled with anger, but he kept his face calm, making it almost impossible to notice.
"Everyone fears me. They don’t even have the courage to look into my eyes, yet this girl is threatening me. And she dares to raise her sword against me."
He thought, glaring at her with a cold, unreadable expression.
“You really have a death wish today. Do you even know who I am?” Ekansh said in a loud voice, emphasizing every word.
“Yes, I really do have a wish to take your life, and I’m not interested in knowing who you are,” Siya replied in the same tone, pressing each word.
Her words left him completely shocked.
“Siya, chaliye yahan se. Hamein yeh aadmi bahut khatarnak lag raha hai,” Devika whispered in Siya’s ear while looking at Ekansh with a scared expression.
(“Siya, let’s go from here. This man looks very dangerous to me.” Devika whispered in Siya’s ear while looking at Ekansh with a scared expression.)
Suddenly, a strong gust of wind loosened Siya’s dupatta, and it slipped from her face.
Her long black hair flew freely in the wind, making her look even more beautiful. Her fair, beautiful face made her look like a goddess.
For a moment, Ekansh forgot everything and found himself lost in her beauty.
“Who are you?” Ekansh asked softly.
"An independent, strong, and fearless woman who knows how to stand against the world, fight her own battles, and make the world bow before her," Siya declared in a loud, fierce, and firm voice directly looking into his eyes.
Her reply impressed him. His heartbeat quickened with an unknown feeling something he was experiencing for the first time in his life.
"I'm getting late, so I'll let you go. But don't you dare come in front of me again. Understood?" Siya said coldly. She then climbed onto her horse and rode away.
She didn't give him chance to say anything.
Ekansh stood there, watching her disappear, his face filled with shock and disbelief.
After a moment, he finally came back to his senses and muttered to himself, "I'm not interested in seeing you again either. What a crazy woman."
Then he climbed onto his horse and rode away.
